The Round-about

Prada, Marni, Aquiliano Rimondi

One of the strongest directions to come out of Milan Fashion Week for Fall 11 is rounded silhouettes, which may or may not involve dropped shoulders. An assortment of boldface designers featured these looks mainly on coats, although cocoon dresses at Jil Sander are noted, with particular reference to Cristobal Balenciaga. In most cases the rounded silhouette accompanies roomier fits, although Marni manages to champion rounded shoulders without extra bulk.
