If you know me then you know I’m practically a brand ambassador for flash online sample sales like Gilt Groupe. There’s a newcomer in town, and it’s dedicated to dresses (and a few special occasion coordinates). 365 Hangers consistently stocks labels like BCBG, Trina Turk, DVF, Milly and more. I just signed up, and it seems as if anyone can (no invite required).
The site offers over 50 brands for sale every day, which puts my other flash sale sites to shame in SOME ways. They also have this super zoom feature which is nice..
But here’s the downfall. When you like something, you have to click “Make it Yours” which brings you to another page, and only there is where you see the size availability. I spent a good amount of time on this site and EVERY dress I happened to click on only had 1 size available! When we’re talking contemporary dresses, the size range is typically 0-10 and so you have a 1 in 10 shot of having your size available. OK so maybe that’s why these dresses are up to 70% off retail.. BUT if they’re not going to have mostly full size runs (which most of the other flash sales do), then why not have a search feature by size only? They do have a search by body type: Straight, Athletic, Pear, Full, Hourglass, but I’m not so inclined to use that feature.. I want to see what’s out there, and in a limited size selection, at the very least by my size.
They have a community area where you could have discussions, but the ones on there so far seem kind of staged. As in thanks, we got that 365 Hangers sells BCBG dresses for cheap. I don’t think 365 Hangers will make it to my list of flash faves anytime soon, good idea with the dresses, just needs to become more user friendly in accordance with their merchandise selection.
