Breathless by Rodarte

I’ve been meaning polish up on classic French films. Perhaps now is the time, with the 50th anniversary release of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless. The Nouvelle Vague (New Wave) film has a collab component too – Rialto Pictures and Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte have teamed up to offer Breathless inspired tees. They’re available at Barney’s New York, Colette in Paris and Dover Street Market in London. But I can’t say they do much to make me see the film, or add to my tee shirt drawer.

  1. Turns out that the New York Herald Tribune tee was actually worn by Seberg on-screen. Still think Rodarte could have done a better job to capture the 60s spirit of the film and inject some of their own ideas.. or perhaps we’ll see some of that in the Spring 11 collection?
