Mi Jong Lee Takes To the Elements

Excited about Karl’s photography exhibit in Paris? Here’s yet another reason to put the Maison Européenne de la Photographie museum on your itinerary this Fall. New York based Korean designer Mi Jong Lee collaborated with photographer Ernestine Ruben in an exhibit titled “Images au Corps” which runs until October 31st. Ruben’s photographs depict themes such as Air, Water, Moss and Fire, and Lee’s part was to interpret the images into garments. Lee, who designs under the Emmelle label, created one-of-a-kind garments that express the nature-based prints and land upon items like a cocoon coat, organza gown or tuxedo coat. The garments were positioned on mannequins placed aside of the original images, making for an almost seamless translation from art to fashion.
