Fall 11: Grunge Forward

Now in his fifth season, Altuzarra is still considered a fresh face at New York Fashion Week. This season’s Fall 11 theme conjured up 90s Grunge, with slip dresses, argyle knits and parkas to top it all off. Fur collars injected a bit of luxury while pieced construction was also highlighted.

And while it is still early to say, a few other designers incorporated grunge styling with a softer effect – cue maxi silhouettes and whimsical chiffon prints. Not a bad follow-up to Charlotte Ronson’s heritage grunge from Spring 11.
