Fall 11: Parkas and Beyond

Oh the parka. It’s a current fixture at retail along with the more transitional field jacket. And how it continues into Fall 11, from grunge styling at Altuzarra to a surprising element in Peter Som’s sophisticated collection.

Not new enough? Then here’s the topic for you. Alexander Wang brings back the poncho in a big way, which I’m sure will be a retail hit for him, and replicated by others (perhaps in less sleeping bag coat interpretations). Things to keep in mind here: quilting, oversized shapes, bomber or utility pocket reference, and optional fur trim.
