Rodarte: States of Matter

This past weekend in LA I had the pleasure of seeing the Rodarte: States of Matter exhibit at MOCA Pacific Design Center. While the exhibit is concise – there are about 20 pieces in total – it was definitely worth the visit. It starts out with the AH-mazing ballet costumes from Black Swan and then continues upstairs with looks from the Spring 10 and Fall 10/11 collections. The lighting and display techniques really heightened the experience, from suspended and rotating garments to florescent and black lights that elevated Rodarte’s signature textile applications.

The exhibit runs through June 5th and is definitely worth the visit, especially as Rodarte moves forward as one of the most visionary American labels of our time.
