Those Prada Stripes

Prada, Spring 11

Who could possibly forget the magnificence that was Prada’s Spring 11 spectator stripes? Not to forget the Josephine Baker tie-in and banana prints in the same collection.

Anyhow, I’m taking a minute out of my Fall 12/13 analysis and flipping back to Spring for a minute because this is simply something MAJOR. Every Spring 12 fabric show I attended (Premiere Vision, Indigo and Tissu Premier come to mind) all featured these spectator stripes and last week Bloomingdale’s in Santa Monica Place had an assortment of Splendid knits that fit the bill. I thought these were executed quite brilliantly from the pattern to color palette, with the caftan top standing out above all.
