MAGIC All Stars

As with all major tradeshows, I like to break down the major trends spotted at the show. Of course for the full report (with over 30 trends), look no further than Fashion Snoops. Here’s a breakdown of the Top 10 MAGIC Ladies Trends for Spring 12.

BOHO SPIRIT. Yes bohemia is alive and well at MAGIC, long silhouettes, free-spirited patterns and openwork included.

THE ROMANTICS. Because what junior or young contemporary customer doesn’t like a little romance in their life? Lace, frills and florals are all present.

TECHNO TRIBAL. We’ve been talking about this theme since Spring 11 runway, and its influence still makes a bold impact for Spring 12. Tribal pattern motifs are a must.

COBALT BLUE. Although orange and poppy red were also present, cobalt blue saturates the market as the number one accent color.

COLOR BLOCKING. Yes this one has been around for a while but brands like Jaloux feature great new color combinations that look fresh.

SPECTATOR STRIPES. A big DO NOT MISS trend.. in fact, I think I like these even better than the Prada stripes!

CUTWORK. Embroidered cutwork featured all-over garments or used as spot embellishment becomes the leading material expression at MAGIC.

LWD. The little white dress is a must-have in dress assortments, often embracing cutwork and lace.

MAXI DRESS. Long silhouettes continue to dominate the market with the maxi dress becoming most important.

WIDE LEG PANTS. One of the leading trends on the Fall 11 runways becomes the major pant expression at MAGIC with summer palazzo shapes.
